Privacy Policy

Our commitment to you: Your health data is used only to provide and improve the TOVA coaching experience. It is never sold to third parties, used for advertising, or used for data mining unrelated to your health and nutrition goals.
1. Overview
TOVA is a personalized nutrition coaching application developed and operated by A/S Fitness LLC. We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling your health data with the utmost care and transparency.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use TOVA, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights as a user. By creating a TOVA account and using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data we collect
To provide personalized nutrition coaching, TOVA collects the following categories of information:
Account information
- Full name and email address
- Password (stored encrypted — never readable by our team)
Personal health data
- Age, biological sex, height, and current weight
- Health goals (weight loss, maintenance, or gain)
- Activity level and nutrition protocol selection
- Custom macro targets if set by the user
Nutrition and food data
- Food log entries including food name, quantity, and macro breakdown
- Meal photos submitted for AI food analysis
- Food reactions and body observation notes
- Saved meals and frequently logged food items
Wellness and check-in data
- Weekly check-in entries: weight, energy, mood, sleep quality, hours slept, and personal notes
- Daily snapshot data: energy, mood, sleep, bloating, digestion observations
- Weight log history over time
Optional body metrics
- Waist and hip measurements (optional — only if you choose to log them)
- Body fat percentage (optional — only if you choose to log it)
Activity data (when connected)
- Daily step count from Apple Watch or Fitbit (only when you connect a device)
- Active calories burned (only when you connect a device)
Camera and photo library
- Meal photos taken or selected for AI food scanning are sent to Claude AI for analysis and are not permanently stored on our servers
- Camera and photo library access is only used when you explicitly tap the Scan Meal button
3. AI coaching & third-party data sharing
TOVA uses Claude AI, developed by Anthropic, to power the Ask Ally coaching feature. When you use Ask Ally, certain data from your account is shared with Anthropic's API in real time to generate a personalized coaching response. This data includes:
- Your remaining daily macro targets
- Your current nutrition protocol (Standard Tracking or Gut Healing Elimination)
- Your recent food log entries and totals
- Your recent food reaction notes
- Your recent weekly check-in data including mood, energy, and sleep ratings
- Your current weight trend summary
This data is transmitted to Anthropic solely to generate your coaching response. Anthropic does not use your personal health data to train its AI models without explicit consent. You can review Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
By using the Ask Ally feature you consent to this data sharing. You may withdraw your consent at any time by going to Profile → Settings → Privacy → AI Data Sharing. Withdrawing consent will disable the Ask Ally coaching feature but will not affect any other part of the app.
No other third parties receive your personal health data. We do not use advertising networks, analytics platforms that collect personal health data, or data brokers.
4. How we use your data
We use the data we collect exclusively to provide and improve the TOVA coaching experience. Specifically we use your data to:
- Calculate and display your personalized daily macro targets
- Track your nutrition progress and generate trend data over time
- Power Ally's AI coaching responses through Claude AI
- Generate the Ally's Observations insights in your Profile based on your check-in patterns
- Send check-in reminders and other relevant in-app notifications on your selected check-in day
- Enable progress sharing with friends you have explicitly connected with inside the app
- Improve the accuracy and quality of food recognition and macro suggestions
We do not use your health data for advertising, behavioral profiling unrelated to health coaching, sale to third parties, or any purpose beyond providing and improving the TOVA app experience.
5. Friend progress sharing
TOVA allows you to share your daily macro progress and food log with other TOVA users you connect with as friends. This feature is entirely opt-in and works as follows:
- You must explicitly send or accept a friend request before any data is shared
- Friends can only see your daily food log entries and macro progress for the current day
- Friends cannot see your check-in notes, body measurements, wellness data, or personal health metrics
- You can hide your progress from any specific friend at any time through Profile → My Friends
- You can remove any friend connection at any time — this immediately stops all data sharing
Coaches who use TOVA to monitor their clients' progress use this same friend sharing system and are subject to the same privacy controls.
6. Data storage & security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:
- All data is transmitted using HTTPS encryption
- Passwords are stored using one-way encryption and are never readable by our team
- Meal photos submitted for scanning are processed and not permanently stored on our servers
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account all associated personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting privacy@tovaapp.net.
7. Children's privacy
TOVA is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through TOVA, please contact us immediately at privacy@tovaapp.net and we will delete that information promptly.
8. Your rights
As a TOVA user you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can view all data you have provided through the app at any time
- Correction: You can update or correct your personal information in Profile → My Goals and Profile → Settings
- Deletion: You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting privacy@tovaapp.net
- AI consent: You can withdraw consent for AI data sharing at any time in Profile → Settings → Privacy
- Friend sharing: You can remove or restrict any friend connection at any time in Profile → My Friends
- Data portability: You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting privacy@tovaapp.net
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as TOVA evolves. When we make significant changes we will notify you through an in-app notification and update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Your continued use of TOVA after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

This privacy policy was last updated May 2025 and applies to all versions of the TOVA app.
